MOUNTAIN HUNTER RECORD BOOK
The Mountain Hunter Record Program has been developed to acknowledge and record the quality and diversity of trophy animals harvested by individuals in Northwestern Canada within our collective membership which includes British Columbia, Yukon, North West Territories and Nunavut. Along with commonly recognized species such as Elk, Bear, Deer and Moose, the Mountain Hunter Record Book will include Wolf, Lynx, and Bobcat. The Mountain Hunter Record Book currently includes 38 native free-ranging North American entry categories for our Record Book and Slam Awards.
This measuring system is based on gross Boone and Crockett scores giving full credit to the quality of the animal harvested and does not penalize the animal for asymmetry. With respect to our diverse geographic land mass, it has been necessary to break up the total range of some of the species into various categories in order to provide proper recognition. Trophies can be scored and entered dating from 1966 to present, creating a foundation of records. Eligible entries must have been harvested with a past or present member in good standing of the Guide Outfitters Association of British Columbia including members of the Yukon Outfitters Association and the Association of Mackenzie Mountains Outfitters.
A Mountain Hunter Record Book Committee has been established to oversee all aspects of the Record Book and Awards Program.
